Remind me again why i've never seen him live?

Rocking the sweater vest.

She's like grace from the earth.

Every version is amazing.

I like the "point at the camera" move at the end.

The Cribs are number one

I was looking at my top 25 most played on itunes and was a little surprised to see that The Cribs fill the number one and number five spots.

This very NSFW video got me hooked on the group a couple of years ago. There is a clean version of this clip but this version is far superior. It is far and away my favorite track on the album and CSS did an awesome even dancier remix of it.

This is my second favorite song from that album and it found its way onto several mixtapes over the intervening years. Then beyond all reason the amazing Johnny Marr joined the band last year and they released the sublime album Ignore the Ignorant.

This is an awesome song from the album but not one of the two songs on my top 25. In my number one slot is the song Ignore the Ignorant and my number five is the song Is Anybody There which is actually a bonus track on the album. Unfortunately I couldn't find good videos for those songs but check them out as soon as you can.

This was the first single off of the newest album. Pretty cool.

We were Promised Jetpacks

Besides the fact that they have an bad ass name We Were Promised Jetpacks are a great Scottish band. Their full length album came out last summer entitled These Four Walls but I just got around to checking it out a couple of weeks ago. They had an EP come out a couple of months ago called The Last Place You'll Look that I haven't heard yet but i soon will. I'm a little bummed that they won't be touring anywhere near me in the near future but I'm keeping them on my radar.

This may end poorly.

This may end well.

Treasure: The Get Up Kids

I was searching for something on an external hard drive the other day and came across The Get Up Kids album Something to write home about. The Get Up Kids were one of my favorites back in the day, they were practically local boys from nearby Kansas City, Mo. These guys are arguably one of the fathers of “Emo” even though they hated the label. This album was a big jump in a more pop direction from the punkier Four minute mile their previous album(which inexplicably I don’t have). I vaguely remember it being one of those “these guys suck now” situations that indie bands sometimes find themselves in. My contention is “How can you hate on a band that uses a Pee Wee Herman line for a song title?” End of discussion.

The last batch

111. Jennifer’s Body (2009) “She’s evil, and not just high school evil.” Pretty good movie and what a body it is.
112. Taking Woodstock(2009) “A generation began in his backyard.” I liked it. There could have been more boobs, come on it’s a movie about hippies! Is Eugene Levy an acting genius?

113. Resident Evil (2002) “A secret experiment. A deadly virus. A fatal mistake.” Mila kicks ass.
114. Resident Evil II (2004) “You’re all gonna die.” Still kicking ass.

115. Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008) Great film, how have I not seen this?
116. Orgazmo (1997) Good lord that’s funny and filthy.
117. The Man with Two Brains (1983) Not very funny, poor Steve Martin.
118. 2012 (2009) “We were warned.” Makes me thankful that I know a pilot.
119. Where the Wild Things Are (2009) Blargh!

120. Fast Friday (2009) Let’s ride.

Almost to the end

101. Children of the Corn (2009) Those kids are hella creepy. Not too bad a movie for a remake.
102. Trick r Treat(2008) “Poison, Drowning, Claw or knife So many ways to take a life.” Awesome set of interconnected horror shorts.
103. Food Inc. (2008) “You’ll never look at dinner the same way again.” Let’s hope Gretchen never sees this or she might make us all go vegan.

104. Flight of the Living Dead (2008) “Un-dead at 30,000 feet” Yeah, as awesome as the name implies. Zombies loose on an airplane, nothing more to say.

105. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009) “Prepare to get served.” Great movie, the kids watch this several times a week and we saw it in the theater.
106. The Last House on the Left (2009) “If bad people hurt someone you love, how far would you go to hurt them back?” Whoa, there is some brutal stuff in this film.
107. American Meth (2008)These meth heads are insane. This film is pretty choppy but the subject is fascinating.
108. Away We Go (2009) A wonderful film, more about the emotional feel than anything else, very effective.

109. Galaxy Quest A great movie, everytime I see it I’m reminded of my Dad, not because he’s a failed Sci Fi actor but because he really liked this movie.
110. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) 1989, really? This film holds up really well.
